Installing Blackberry Storm 9500 firmware v5.0.0.484

Hi All.. Just took the chance and updated my Blackberry Storm 9500 to the latest firmware v5.0.0.484
So here is a simple guide for those that would like to upgrade to v5.0.0.484.
Some background information before we begin.
Carrier / Cellular Network: Celcom Malaysia
Phone: Blackberry Storm 9500
Current Firmware Version: 4.7.0.186
Latest available firmware download for Celcom’s Storm: 4.7.0.186

OK.. since Celcom still has not release any v5 firmware yet.. I decided to take the chance, and flash mine with Indonesian Telkom
Required Files:
1. Blackberry Desktop Software V5.0 Service Pack 1 (5.0.1)
2. Blackberry Handheld Software v5.0.0.801 (All Languages)
You can download this 2 files from www.blackberry.com, select Supports & Services, then select Downloads, then select Blackberry and Desktop Software, then select Access Your Service Provider Download Site. For Me, I went to Telkomsel Indonesia, because similar to Celcom, they got their phones from Vodafone.
Installation onto PC
Next, install the 2 downloaded software onto you PC. First Install Blackberry Desktop Software 5.0.1 then followed by Blackberry Handheld Software v5.0.0.801
Updating your Blackberry Storm 9500
Next, start up blackberry desktop manager.
Next, connect your blackberry storm 9500 onto your PC via USB.
Next, let the desktop manager ‘search’ for updated software.
Next, you will see the desktop manager showing you the available updates, which includes the v5 firmware..
OOOH.. almost forgot. Very important, you have delete 1 file.

Go to c:\program files\common files\reasearch in motion\
and delete the file 'Vendor.xml’

Update and VIOLA!! Thats it.. simple.. nice and easy..

Gemas.. The Peaceful Town..

Here’s some photographs I have taken sometime ago.. on the small but enchanting town of Gemas..
For those who are not too geographically knowledgeable, Gemas is a small town located between Johor and Negeri Sembilan.. half the town is in Johor and another half in Negeri Sembilan.
Gemas is an important point in the Malaysian Peninsular. It is where the railway branches out to the east coast.

Okay.. enough on the background history of this small, quiet but enchanting town.. here’s some photographs.

PC Fair April 2010- KL Convention Centre (KLCC)

It is the time of the year, where people rush to downtown KL.. KLCC (KL Convention Centre).. PIKOM PC FAIR!!
Met many sweet young girls, and even a new local artist BRENDEN.. the guy made famous by astro advertisements.

Next, we went to the PC Guru.. next door has a WCG booth.. where they have many xbox 360 for people to play.. So we decided to go and give it a try with my colleagues. This is a photo of my colleague.. For obvious reasons why i did not shoot myself playing the game.

Next.. The pretty ladies..






















Next.. i got myself a P1 Wimax.. recently my modem is struck by a lightning.. and not willing to get another modem, decided to get something that will not get hit by lightning.. a wireless modem.. So P1 Wimax came to mind.. so here I am in at the P1 booth.. playing the game.. those papers flying around the tube.. the more i catch the more $$ they will credit in my account.. different papers has different  value.. in total i ‘caught’ RM41.00.. not bad..

DAMN SYIOK!! a real tiring day trip but damn worth it..
